MITGI Employee Wins Community Impact Award by Minnesota Business Magazine

HUTCHINSON, MN – March 16, 2016

Sheila Murphy, MITGI Director of HR and Safety, has been honored as the recipient of the Paragon of Leadership Award, part of the 2016 Community Impact Awards from Minnesota Business Magazine. Recognized as Minnesota business leader who makes a positive impact through service, character, and leadership, Murphy exemplifies the attributes necessary to foster and encourage an environment of corporate giving.

In partnership with Minnesota Business Magazine, a second award was presented by the Jefferson Award Foundation, naming Murphy as the local Jefferson Award winner.  Designed to recognize the efforts of individuals who work to positively impact their community, the award helps to spotlight regional excellence in giving and leadership.

“Through education, recruiting, and community partnerships, Sheila works to elevate the perception of the industry and promote the growth of manufacturing in Minnesota,” explains Eric Lipke, MITGI President.  “Her work helps to connect students, businesses, and schools, which in turn helps the long-term viability of our community.”

“One of Sheila’s greatest assets is her ability to connect with people; it makes people feel part of a group and inspired to take personal action,” describes Jennie Nelson, MITGI Director of Sales and Marketing.  “Her talents and natural leadership make her stand out as a young professional, a woman in manufacturing, and as a member of our community.”

Awards were presented at the 2016 Community Impact Awards event, held on February 25, 2016 at Aria in Downtown Minneapolis.  Each category winner is featured in the March 2016 issue of Minnesota Business Magazine.
