MITGI Expands Coating Capabilities
HUTCHINSON, MN – February 5, 2015
Midwest Industrial Tool Grinding, Inc. has expanded their coating capabilities to include new surface treatment options. After the successful introduction of in-house coating in September 2014, the MITGI coating options now includes AlTiN (Aluminum Titanium Nitride), TiN (Titanium Nitride), and TiCN (Titanium Carbon Nitride), nACo (Aluminum Titanium Nitride + Silicon Nitride), and nACRo (Aluminum Chrome Nitride + Silicon Nitride).
“The addition of more surface treatment options to our line means that we’re better able to serve the needs of our customers while ensuring that the quality of the coating matches the tools we manufacture,” explains Eric Lipke, MITGI General Manager. “By utilizing batches of similarly sized tools, we’re able to consistently produce superior coating from tool-to-tool, and batch-to-batch. This means we are able to retain full control of the quality and are able to reduce lead times.”
MITGI offers coating for micro tools with a round shank, made of carbide or high speed steel, in sizes ranging from 1/8”-1” in diameter. Coating services are available for tools manufactured outside of the MITGI facility.
MITGI manufactures standard and custom cutting tools that are built to tighter tolerances than most tools on the market. Combining innovation with quality and repeatability, MITGI tools have become the product of choice in many R&D departments and manufacturing facilities that serve the medical, automotive, and aerospace industries.
