MITGI Introduces Coating

HUTCHINSON, MN – September 19, 2014

Midwest Industrial Tool Grinding, Inc. has expanded their production capabilities with the addition of in-house coating. Utilizing small batches of similarly sized tools, MITGI is able to consistently produce superior coating from tool-to-tool, and batch-to-batch, ensuring that the quality of the coating matches that of its tools.

“Making the decision to add in-house coating was easy,” explains Eric Lipke, MITGI General Manager. “When we sent our tools out for coating, we faced delays due to damaged tools, inconsistent coating, and timeframes that did not meet our expectations. By adding coating to the services we provide, we’re able to reduce average timelines by a week and retain full control of the quality.”

MITGI offers coating for micro tools with a round shank, made of carbide or high speed steel, in sizes ranging from 1/8”-1” in diameter. Coating options include AlTiN (Aluminum Titanium Nitride), TiN (Titanium Nitride), and TiCN (Titanium Carbon Nitride).

MITGI manufactures Standard and Custom Cutting Tools that are built to tighter tolerances than most tools on the market. Combining innovation with quality and repeatability, MITGI tools have become the product of choice in many R&D departments and manufacturing facilities that serve the medical, automotive, and aerospace industries.
